Ingenia Polymers was established in 1986 under the founding name WedTech Inc. The evolution to Ingenia Polymers symbolizes the spirit of ingenuity that’s applied to each and every project. Starting out as a small Canadian-based polymer grinding company, Ingenia has developed a distinct culture that is characterized by a strong drive for continuous improvement, commitment to leading-edge technologies, excellence in services, innovation and a continuous focus in adding value to its customers’ supply chains.

Timeline

1986 Incorporated as WedTech Inc.

  • 50/50 joint venture between Polyvector Corp. and Wedco Technologies
  • Established plant operations in Brantford, Ontario
  • Set up corporate offices in Toronto, Ontario

1990 Established plant operations in Calgary, Alberta

1993 Began manufacturing of proprietary Masterbatches

1998 Polyvector purchased Wedco’s interest; company renamed as Ingenia Polymers Corp.

1999 Established plant in Houston, Texas

2002 Opened Mexico Sales and Service Centre

2007 Opened Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) office

2008 Added color concentrates (Brantford, Ontario) and new black compound plant (Houston, Texas)

2009 Added pipe and rotomoulding product lines
           Set up plant operations in KSA, Jubail

2013 Commenced operations at plant in Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia
