Ingenia SuperBlend®

Ingenia SuperBlend® products are homogeneous pelletized formulations of additives in very high concentrations ranging from 50-100% of active ingredients.

These are unique formulations used to add UV's, slip agents, antioxidants, processing aids, antistats, nucleating agents and other additives to various thermoplastics all in one pelletized compound.

Using proprietary technology, Ingenia Polymers produces four types of SuperBlend® products to meet the formulation requirements demanded by your application.

·         Type A is an ultra-high concentration pelletized blend composed of 50%+ active ingredients in a polymer based carrier.

·         Type B is a melt formulated blend typically comprised of 100% of active ingredients.

·         Type C is a compacted pellet blend typically comprised of 100% of active ingredients.

·         Type D is a melt formulated blend typically comprised of 100% of active ingredients.

Dust Free Polymer Additive Solutions

Use of SuperBlend® products offers significant advantages for Thermoplastic Producers and Compounders.

1. Handling

SuperBlend® pellets are easier to handle than additives in the form of powder, pastes, or liquids. Typically SuperBlend® products can be packaged in Supersacs, Boxes, Bags or Drums and in the case of type A, in Railcars and Bulk trucks. They can be conveyed using pneumatic or mechanical transfer systems.

2. Industrial Hygiene
SuperBlend® products are designed to eliminate dust exposure to operating personnel.

3. Safety
Many fine powders present a significant dust explosion risk. Since SuperBlend® products are dust free, effectively eliminating the explosion risk during handling.

4. Simplicity of Use
In many cases only one SuperBlend® formulation fed through one feeder is adequate to provide all additives required. This decreases the number of feeders required and the associated problems causing off-specification production. Each lot of SuperBlend® is certified for individual component concentrations. This permits simplified quality control of the final product requiring analysis of the concentration of only one of the ingredients of the blend.

5. Formulation Flexibility
SuperBlend® products can utilize additives from any supplier as required. Formulations are not limited to any one particular brand or supplier of additives.

6. Environment
SuperBlend® products offer significant advantages in maintaining clean, dust-free operations and eliminating fouling and inaccuracies of feeding equipment.

7. Cost Savings
Substantial cost savings can be achieved as follows:

  • Inaccuracies in additive levels are a major cause of off-specification production in polymer plants. Human error or deviation of one of many feeders can be the cause of off-specification production. With the ratio of ingredients precisely controlled the use of SuperBlend® products, typically requires only one feeder thereby, reducing the risk of producing off-specification product.
  • Precisely controlled formulations allow for reduced analytical testing costs, as only one component of the blend needs to be tested to determine the concentration level of all other additives.
  • Less capital equipment is required for feeders, transfer and loading systems, dust control etc. Cost associated with purchasing, inventory control and logistics are also reduced.
