Overview

Polymer processing aids (PPAs) are additives that are used during the extrusion process to improve processability. The PPA is carried through the resin where it begins to form a layer of additive on the metal surface of the extruder. This reduces friction and improves polymer flow to avoid common processing challenges.

In the past, per or poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been used, but these chemicals are environmentally and biologically persistent. Ingenia has developed state-of-the-art non-PFAS PPAs, that offer improved performance without environmental or toxicological concerns.

Features

Ingenia PPAs can be used in several extrusion technologies to offer process improvements such as reducing die lip buildup, improving product throughput and eliminating melt fracture in blown film.

Our non-PFAS polymer process aid solutions have the following advantages:

Note: some companies refer to non-PFAS PPAs as PFAS free polymer process aids, although this description tends to be less representative of the products.
