Sheet Extrusion
Overview
Plastic sheet is made via an extrusion process which forces molten plastic through a flat die at a defined thickness. Ingenia has developed masterbatch solutions for geomembranes produced using sheet extrusion, as well as sheet for thermoforming applications. Thermoforming is the process whereby sheets are heated to a softened state such that they are pliable and can be molded to a set shape with pressure or vacuum.
Regardless of the final use case, Ingenia offers processing enhancement solutions. Our polymer processing aid (PPA) technology is at the forefront of innovation. We offer non-PFAS PPAs that improve throughput and reduce die lip buildup. We can also expedite product change overs with our highly efficient purge compounds; they require less material and save you time and money!
Ingenia also focuses on masterbatch solutions for performance enhancement and functionality. Ingenia’s black masterbatches are high quality solutions that exhibit excellent dispersion in sheet extrusion. Our color and white masterbatches will provide optimal aesthetics and opacity. The addition of our stabilizer packages can allow for the use of barefoot resins in geomembrane applications, reducing your total cost versus fully formulated resins. If you are looking to expand the service life of products destined for the outdoors, Ingenia’s UV additive solutions are a wise choice.
