White Masterbatch
White masterbatch provides opacity to plastic films and parts, allows for a background canvas for printed graphics in packaging applications and enables improved performance in a wide variety of applications.
Overview
White masterbatch typically contains the pigment titanium dioxide (TiO2), often in combination with another mineral. TiO2 provides the highest level of whiteness and opacity to plastic parts. Various grades of TiO2 provide different processing and end-use performance benefits. Ingenia carefully selects the grade of TiO2 and the carrier resin to meet the performance targets for dispersion, melt index, undertone, durability and opacity that the application demands.
Features
Ingenia offers white masterbatch options to cover a wide range of applications including blown film, cast film, injection molding, blow molding, sheet extrusion, and extrusion coating. To best serve our customers, we have designed a wide range of products, some with superior weatherability for outdoor uses, others with high flow for injection molding and even filled whites for low cost applications. Where a combination of white and additive masterbatch solutions are required, Ingenia has several standard grades combining the performance benefits of additives and TiO2 in one masterbatch. Using Ingenia’s white masterbatches provides many benefits including:
- Superior dispersion and distribution – maximizing efficiency and performance.
- Accurate metering – leading to cost savings.
- Ease of handling – the white masterbatch is conveniently provided in pellet form that minimizes the health hazards of free powder.
- Minimizing interactions with other additives such as slip agents and processing aids.
