Learn about how Ingenia contributes to its local communities through various volunteer initiatives, including environmental clean-ups and other sustainable opportunities.
Our team in Calgary volunteers for the annual River and Pathway clean-up. Breaking into four groups, each team was able to clean up both sides of the creek,and managed to pick up 12 large waste garbage bags full of waste.
The team was supplied with trash bags, rubber gloves, hand sanitizers, and flags to ID dangerous items by the city. The teams found plastic waste such as, food containers, shipping packages, grocery bags, and candy wrappers. As a company in the plastic industry, it was great to volunteer to help the community in the removal of plastic waste similarly how we avoid plastic waste in our business operations.
This experience has shed light on the amount of waste that is flooding our environment whether it is plastic or paper waste, at Ingenia we acknowledge the ongoing issue of waste that is produced and put out into the environment which is why we implement many programs and controls to limit the addition of waste that is already produced during machine operations.
